Usually we start the evening with some light background music as the guests arrive, often some toasting and speeches are made and we can supply a microphone if required for speeches, etc.
Once you're ready for the entertainment it usually starts with the bride and groom having the First Dance to the music of their choice. They will normally dance alone for the full duration of the song. The extroverts may even have rehearsed for several weeks to perform their routine, often these can be quite spectacular in themselves. While the more reserved couples may simply choose to dance for just a part of the song, then the guests will be invited to join them, this finally takes the pressure off them and gives them their first real chance to relax. Tips For A Perfect Wedding Reception Party:
The First Dance will signal the start of the evening to your guests. It is traditional to let the bride and groom take to the dance floor first. If you decide to have your First Dance promptly, your guests can then join in from the start of the evening.
