SoundONE Disco - Frequently Asked Questions:

Whether you decide to book SoundONE for your event or take a chance with another DJ/Disco service, you will probably want to know the answers to some, if not all, of the questions below.

= Question.
= Answer.

How early do we need to book in advance?
The earlier you book the better, if you ask us for a quote and then come back a week or so later you could find we have been booked by someone else, We do get extremely busy at certain times, the best Disco services are always booked well in advance. The best advice is book early to avoid disappointment, don't leave it too late as you will significantly reduce your chance of booking a good Disco.

I have been let down by another Disco service and I need a Disco.
Don't be afraid to contact us, we may have that date free, or we may be able to supply another DJ and system. If not, we will do all we can to help, we know a lot of DJs so there is a good chance someone can help.

If I book SoundONE will I receive booking contract?
Yes, if you book us we will send you booking contract to sign, once signed a copy will be emailed to you and one to us, we print ours and keep it in date order with all our others so we know in an instant, where and when we should be on any given date at any given time. You keep your copy as that is your guarantee and booking confirmation.

Do I have to make payment before the event?
Yes, we require a non refundable booking deposit, normally £50.00 before we will reserve the date of your event, the remaining payment is to be made 14 days prior to the event, normally by BACS or cheque, we will email you our BACS details so you are able to do this.

I'm not sure if we want the event to end at 11:30pm or 12:30pm what should I pay for?
Just let us know before booking, we can price you to 11:30pm and if you need another hour or so on the night you can pay a little extra then. There's no point paying extra and not needing the extra time on the night.

Are there going to be any hidden costs?
No absolutely not the price you have been quoted and the price on the contract is the price you pay.

I did book until 11:30pm but the party is going so well we would like you to go for another hour is this possible?
Normally this is not a problem as long as it's ok with the venue, it's normally ok with us. However we will require additional payment, which is charged at a fixed hourly rate clearly stated in the booking contract.

We need the music to start at 6pm exactly and it must stop at midnight will this be a problem?
Absolutely no problem, we work to your timescale and yours only, providing these times have been arranged with the venue and agree with the times on the booking contract.

What if we need the music to be turned down or be switched off at a certain time so that an announcement can be made?
Just let the DJ or technician know when you want the music turned down or off, if you need a microphone for announcements one will be made available.

What happens if your main sound equipment fails during my wedding/party, etc?
Don't worry our equipment is all very modern and well maintained but in the unlikely event that one of the critical systems does fail or breakdown, we always carry backup equipment that can be used.

What if the DJ or technician becomes ill or for some unforeseen reason cannot attend our function?
Don't worry there is always two of us so it's an extremely unlikely event that both DJ and DJ/Technician cannot attend, we also have other DJs we can call upon to help, so will be able to arrange a replacement. However we are certainly not in the business of letting clients down and this has never happed to date. We have a solid track record and have never missed a single event.

Do you accept requests or playlists?
If you have a playlist of music you would like the DJ to play email or post it to us no later than fourteen days before the day of your event. The DJ will be able to arrange his/her collection to suit and endeavour to play as many as possible. If you have requests on the night the DJ will also endeavour to play these at an appropriate time, but please remember for one reason or another its not always possible to forfill all requests.

Will the DJ be constantly talking on the microphone or talking over the music?
No, most clients don't want this, people want to hear music not a DJ that likes the sound of his own voice. But of course we can make dedications and requests, make announcements and introduce the bride and groom for the first dance, cutting of the cake and calls for things like "last orders at the bar."

We want to be able to talk near the back at the tables, will the music be too loud for us to do this?
We can play the music as loudly or as quietly as you require, it's your event you decide.
